Open Positions
Part-Time ESE Teachers
Potentia Academy has two part-time positions open for the 2025–26 school year.
Do you believe that every student has the right to reach her or his full learning potential? Do you want to make an impact and change the trajectory of students' lives? Do you want to help prepare students to lead independent, self-determined lives empowered by meaningful employment?
Subjects: Math, reading, writing, and/or an elective.
Start date: August 4, 2025.
Hours of Duty: 4–5 hours/day in the morning hours, which translates to 3-4 class periods with prep time.
Compensation: Competitive hourly rate commensurate with experience.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelors degree from an accredited university.
Idea Candidate Profile: Successful candidates must have a deep empathy for neurodivergent students who learn differently and fully embrace the vision, mission, and values of Potentia Academy. Many of our best teachers have a close connection to learning challenges — as a parent, sibling, or advocate.
Student Profile: Neurodivergent learners, the majority of whom are on the autism spectrum; others struggle with ADHD, dyslexia, dyscalculia, dysgraphia, test anxiety, or general anxiety. All of our students are high functioning. Historically, 97% have graduated with a regular high school diploma meeting the State of Florida standards. Two-thirds of our students continue on to college or university. The remaining third attend vocational or trade school or transition directly into a career after completing an internship.
Work Environment: Excellent mentoring program; small class sizes; no significant behavior problems; state-of-the-art technology; curricular choices align with individualized student needs; safe & secure work environment.
